Illinois Security Services employs a variety of off duty law enforcement officers from several different police departments across Chicagoland. We also have nationwide capability if the need arises. These officers are well trained and many have been decorated for bravery by the departments they represent. These veteran officers not only possess many hours of classroom training but have the street experience to spot any out of the ordinary activity that may occur. These officers have been hand picked by Robert Schaller, Illinois Security Services Inc. CEO and also a highly decorated Chicago Police officer.
These officers combined with the Illinois Security Services Inc. administrative staff work together in a manner that has been proven to deter or stop workplace violence in every instance that we have encountered.
Moreover, Illinois Security Services Inc. employs a rapid response unit that can be mobilized at a moments notice. When workplace violence occurs we can respond with off duty police officers at a given site usually within the hour, depending on the geographic area.
THE FACTS ABOUT WORKPLACE VIOLENCE
Homicide is the second leading cause of fatal occupational injury in the United States. Nearly 1,000 workers are murdered and 1.5 million are assaulted in the workplace each year.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) National Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries (CFOI) there were 794 workplace homicides in 2008. These accounted for 7% of the total 5,071 fatal work injuries in the United States. Of these 794 workplace homicide victims in 2008, 80% were shot and 9% were stabbed. These statistics make prevention of workplace violence a priority for every company.
